10th Sustainability and CSR Communication Forum

March 3, 2026

The 10th Sustainability and CSR Communication Forum was successfully held on 3 March 2026. Since its launch in 2016 by Prof. Wu Shih-Chia, Deputy Director of the CSRCom & Sustainability Hub, CUHK, the Forum has consistently brought together speakers from academia, the business sector, social enterprises, and nonprofit organisations to share the latest industry trends and practical insights with both in person and online participants. Over the past decade, the Forum has engaged more than 2,000 students and professionals across sectors.

Marking its 10th anniversary, this year’s Forum adopted the theme “From Spark to Sustained Action: Embedding Sustainability into Everyday Life”. Speakers reflected on a decade of progress in sustainable development and underscored the vital role of stakeholder engagement in driving long term change.

The Forum opened with a keynote address by Prof. Lin Tse-Chun (HKU Business School) titled “The Unintended Externalities of Environmental Regulations”. This was followed by sharing from Mr. Joshua Wong (The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels), Ms. Helen Huang (DEZU GROUP), and Mr. Eric Swinton (V Cycle), who presented compelling, people centered examples of how sustainability can be advanced across luxury hospitality, architecture and proptech, and circular social enterprises. Their insights highlighted that sustainability is not a limitation, but a value driven pathway—where thoughtful design, technological integration, and social care empower communities, reshape everyday living, and generate lasting environmental and social impact. The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Carlos Lo (Centre for Business Sustainability, CUHK), with Prof. Dong Tse-Ping (Taipei University of Education) and Mr. Lawrence Szeto (SME Sustainability Society) joining as panelists to share their perspectives and engage in dialogue.

The Forum concluded with a collective “Your Commitment” vote, inviting participants to turn shared ideas into meaningful everyday action. With over 250 online and onsite participants, the event fostered meaningful cross sector exchange; as the Forum marks its 10th anniversary, it not only reflects on a decade of steady progress, but also unites shared belief and hope for the future—transforming sustainability from a single spark into a practice we continue to uphold and live by together.
